These bookends are made from Rhyolite which is also known as Volcanic Tuff. So what is volcanic tuff? This material is a relatively soft, porous rock that is usually formed by the compaction and cementation of volcanic ash or dust and has a similar look and feel to sandstone. Being soft and porous this material lends itself well to sculping various accessories including these lovely freeform bookends.
